Géranium Parisien Turquoise ~ a sentimental favorite of the house of D. Porthault!
Years ago in Paris, D. Porthault was asked to create a turquoise print for the Bar Vendôme's terrace dining at the Hotel Ritz. To reflect the garden's ambiance, our print was to be joyful, elegant and evocative of soft summer days. Using Porthault's signature artistic license, we reimagined our iconic Geranium print in two shades of turquoise, with bottle green leaves and stems.
For decade, this was the signature print and color of the Bar Vendôme's garden, with napkins and skirted tables nestled amidst the lush background of trellised flowers, statuary and fountains.
D. Porthault is especially sentimental about our Geraniums at the Hotel Ritz because it was there, in the 1950s, that Madeleine Porthyalt invited guests to view the latest products of the House, filling her suite with printed and embroidered linens, and overlooking the Vendôme garden where turquoise geraniums mingled with the music of champagne conversations.
With great pride and sentiment, D. Porthault has reintroduced our Geranium Parisien Turquoise in bed linens, towels and table linens for the Fall of 2026.
